Profile
There
aren't many Republicans in Massachusetts. We do know how to
win elections here, however, in part because Republican state
leaders have backed responsible conservation and environmental protection. Massachusetts has a high quality of life to
maintain, plus irreplaceable natural treasures worth protecting for
future generations.
Among
Massachusetts' natural treasures are Cape Cod National Seashore, and
nearly a dozen national wildlife refuges, from Nantucket on the
northeastern tip of Nantucket Island to Silvio O. Conte in western
Massachusetts, a refuge named in honor of a hard-working, effective
Republican congressman who spearheaded efforts to clean up the
Connecticut River, conserve fish and wildlife, and enact tougher air
quality standards needed to protect the Northeast's lakes and forests
from acid rain.
Working together, we can protect Massachusetts' great natural heritage for the pleasure and benefit of future generations.
