Chapter Fights for Clean Air and Water

New York REP is focused on air and water quality, and the protection of state and federal public lands in New York State.

The members of our New York Chapter are concerned about protecting all the natural assets of our state, but particularly our magnificent Finger Lakes, our immense Adirondacks State Park, our historic Hudson River, and all our other waterways and watersheds. We're proud of former Governor George Pataki's success (in conjunction with former New Jersey Governor Christine Whitman and legislators in both states) in saving the vital Sterling Forest watershed from development.

Many of our chapter members are sportsmen—recreational boaters, fishermen, and hunters. We all have our favorite pristine natural areas, and we want to make sure they are protected for future generations of New Yorkers. We also care deeply about the air and water quality of our communities.

We are speaking up proudly as New York Republicans who cherish the natural landscape and expect our elected officials to take significant steps to conserve it. We enthusiastically support and vote for those who do.
